About Vikki

Ever since I was a child, I have loved to write. In the early ’90s, I wrote two romance novels that I never published, not for lack of trying, but Mills and Boon, the market I targeted, wouldn’t even look at my manuscripts and returned them in pristine condition, very clearly untouched with a pro forma rejection letter when I knew they hadn’t read one word.
The first book I wrote was Love Child, which I finally published in December 2024 on Amazon via my business, Diamond Tiger Publishing, after rewriting and bringing it into the 21st century.
The second, Halfway Hearts, is getting the same treatment and will be out before the end of 2025, so stay tuned …
I then got into what I would call “fast food” writing as a copywriter, producing 15 and 30-second radio ads for 3AK and Magic 693. This I did for eleven years, and although it fed my need to write and I enjoyed the challenge of trying to work out the best way to sum up a business in their allotted time, my creativity felt stifled.
During that time, I had a couple of short stories published that were as different from each other as night was from the day. One is a funny thriller with a twist called It’s a Dog’s Life, published in a now-defunct Magazine called For me in 1997, and the other, Three Little Words, published in Reader’s Digest in 2006, based on a real-life experience, will tug at your heartstrings. I have provided them here as some free entertainment. Those two short stories represent me, a romantic with a dark side that I enjoy exploring.
If you want to sample more of my personal experience writing, please check out my YouTube channel. Thanks to COVID-19, Victoria Australia experienced some very long lockdowns in 2020. During that time, I amused myself by creating dad-joke-type animations. If you scroll down under every animation, you will find a blog post based on the theme of the joke.
It amuses me even more that most people don’t know they are there. I reveal plenty in those blogs, so if you really want to know more about me, then go there. While you are there, please do me a favour, watch some of them, and subscribe to my channel. It might encourage me to make more of these.
So, that’s it from me. If you care to jump on the Vikki train and like my style, you might find a book you enjoy.
But the main reason you are probably here is to learn more about my first self-published thriller book, An Innocent Heart. It was 15 years in the making. Enjoy the ride.
